Details: robot is a compilation featuring a wide range of artwork from 20 total artists. The majority of the artwork is in a mini manga format, but there are a few stand alone illustrations without text. The variety of styles and themes is one of the highlights of this release; everything from violent action to comedy to bizarre [even disturbing] sex stuff is covered. Every few pages is like stepping into a completely different book because the artists' styles are so strongly presented. The paper quality is outstanding, with vibrant and sharp colors. Similarly, the presentation is top notch. The dust jacket can be removed to reveal a sharp, silver color, and cute little robots can be found scattered about, proudly announcing the page numbers throughout the book. All in all, this is an excellent release encompassing a dramatic variety of quality art styles. [Note: Volume 2, set for a January 2005 release, will likely contain continutations of several of the strips that are not complete. Also, Range Murata's total page count is a mere four pages (in addition to the cover) out of the entire book.]
